Cambian Hartlepool (SEMH) School is seeking a passionate and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our team. We are committed to providing a nurturing environment for students aged 11-17 who have experienced trauma and behavioral challenges.

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in expanding the learning experiences of our students. You will work closely with them, providing individualized support and guidance to help them achieve their full potential.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to create and implement individualized learning plans for students.
  • Provide academic and emotional support to students, assisting them with classroom activities, homework assignments, and personal challenges.
  • Create a positive and supportive learning environment that encourages student engagement and participation.
  • Implement behavior management strategies to promote a safe and structured learning environment.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and other stakeholders regarding student progress and concerns.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • A genuine passion for working with young people and a commitment to making a positive difference in their lives.
  • Experience working with students who have behavioral challenges and/or trauma backgrounds is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Punctuality, flexibility, and adaptability are essential.
