We are seeking a highly skilled Waste Supply Manager to join our team at Foodbuy Group. As a key member of our procurement team, you will play a crucial role in supporting large-scale mobilizations and providing waste subject matter expertise across various sectors.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and Execute Category Strategy: Collaborate with the Commercial Director, Head of Environmental Supply Chain, and SES (Non-Food) to design and implement a long-term category strategy that delivers sustainable improvements in cost, quality, service, and innovation.
- Supplier Identification and Onboarding: Identify and onboard potential new suppliers, both regional and national, to enhance the Compass Waste and Environmental proposition.
- Innovative Waste Solutions: Develop and implement cost-effective waste solutions for GPO clients and suppliers, building relationships and visiting clients to understand their challenges and deliver value.
- KPI Management: Establish and regularly review KPIs at supplier, sector, and site levels to ensure quality and service are maintained while ensuring Compass sector compliance.
- Pricing Mechanisms: Develop and maintain long-term pricing mechanisms across the category and supply base to drive sustainable competitive advantage.
- New Revenue Workstreams: Help develop new revenue workstreams that can be delivered to suppliers and the GPO business.
- Bid Evaluation: Evaluate bids with the Foodbuy SES (Non-Food) Procurement team and Sectors, making recommendations based on commercial, technical, supply, and quality requirements.
- Category Expertise: Communicate industry trends across the business and manage category/sector-related queries from internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience in the Waste Industry: At least 5 years of experience in the waste industry, with a deep understanding of waste streams, operations, and networks.
- Commercial Acumen: Excellent commercial skills, comfortable working under pressure with challenging timelines.
- Supplier Management: Proven ability to manage multiple suppliers and hold them accountable to KPIs.
- Communication and Negotiation: Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to negotiate and influence at all levels of seniority.
- Analytical Skills: Advanced knowledge of Excel and strong analytical skills.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to work independently to solve challenging problems and reduce costs in tough market conditions.
