Senior Electronics Systems Engineer

Copello are pleased to be partnered exclusively with an established defence manufacturer based in Dorset, in the recruitment of a Senior Electronics Systems Engineer with a focus on Naval, Marine Aviation and general Defence applications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Undertake the development of electronic / electrical hardware design
  • Develop and implement electrical and electronic systems and product design
  • Design and develop microcontroller-based systems using PIC
  • Ensure compliance with product safety and regulatory requirements
  • Apply product development lifecycle management principles
  • Conduct root cause and countermeasures (RCCM) analysis
  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies and ALARP
  • Undertake design, safety and process FMEA
  • Use Electrical and PCB CAD software (SolidWorks or Altium) and Product Data Management systems
  • Compile and deliver Contract Data Requirements Lists

This role requires an experienced Electronics Design / Systems Engineer to work as part of the Engineering team.

Requirements:
  • Demonstrable experience of electrical and electronic systems and product design
  • Experience of using microcontrollers such as PIC
  • Familiar with RS422, RS232, Ethernet and LVDS
  • Knowledge and application of product safety and compliance
  • Knowledge and application of product development lifecycle management
  • Solid understanding of root cause and countermeasures (RCCM) techniques
  • Solid understanding and demonstrable experience of risk mitigation and ALARP
  • Solid understanding and demonstrable experience of undertaking design, safety and process FMEA
  • Knowledge and experience of using Electrical and PCB CAD software (SolidWorks or Altium) along with Product Data Management systems
  • Experience of compiling and delivering Contract Data Requirements Lists
