Lead Structural Engineer Responsibilities

  • Designing structural solutions for various building types,
  • Creating detailed AutoCad structural drawings,
  • Overseeing design approvals, mentoring junior staff,
  • Providing accurate design calculations,
  • Managing projects related to building insurance claims, including subsidence, fire, impact, flooding, and storm damage,
  • Conducting site inspections as needed,
  • Innovating and developing new design concepts,
  • Supporting business development initiatives to enhance team growth and the design department.

Lead Structural Engineer Qualifications

  • Degree in Civil and/or Structural Engineering (1st class or higher preferred),
  • Significant post-graduate design experience,
  • Strong knowledge of building structures and materials, including steel, masonry, concrete, and timber,
  • Proficiency in industry-standard structural design software such as TEDDS,
  • Expertise in AutoCad usage,
  • Membership in MICE or MIStructE is desirable,
  • Enthusiasm for new technologies and progressive methodologies,
  • Possession of a valid UK driving license and car ownership.

Lead Structural Engineer Compensation
