Role Overview:
As a Lead Pensions Consultant at Aptia, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing complex pension operations while guiding junior team members.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Engage with clients and scheme participants to address intricate inquiries through various communication channels.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the pension schemes managed by the team, ensuring compliance with established regulations.
  • Execute advanced pension calculations, input data accurately, and respond to queries with precision using both automated and manual processes.
  • Conduct quality checks to support team efforts and utilize management information reporting to track progress on member and client-related tasks.
  • Ensure that any discrepancies, complaints, or errors are resolved in accordance with established protocols and within designated timeframes.
  • Monitor project revenues and collaborate with management to ensure client projects are executed as planned and within budgetary constraints.
  • Identify potential avenues for additional revenue within your client portfolio, ensuring that requests for extra work are recognized and appropriately priced.
  • Stay informed about technical advancements, procedural updates, and legislative changes, and be prepared to discuss their implications.
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in client and trustee interactions.
  • Proficiency in performing complex pension calculations, with the ability to review others' work for accuracy.
  • In-depth understanding of member calculation processes, knowledge of defined benefit schemes, and familiarity with relevant legislation.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of UK pensions law.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to assess and enhance operational processes.
  • Relevant professional qualifications (e.g., PMI) are advantageous.
