The AR&D Team

Our Analytics Research & Development (AR&D) team is a dynamic, multi-national group of experts in hydrology, atmospheric sciences, space sciences, seismology, spatial analytics, and software development. We work closely with clients and the Gallagher Research Centre to translate cutting-edge science and technology into actionable solutions.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced CAT Model Developer to join our AR&D team. This role will suit a skilled professional with 3 years of experience in catastrophe modeling, strong coding skills, project management expertise, and excellent interpersonal skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for building and developing innovative analytical solutions to support our unique risk solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop analytics solutions to quantify catastrophe risk and support business decisions
  • Process and analyze peril datasets (wind, hail, earthquake, flood, wildfire, etc.)
  • Collaborate with account teams to deliver bespoke risk solutions to clients
  • Present technical solutions to internal and external clients in a clear and concise manner
  • Project manage and own development work, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality results
  • Participate in knowledge sharing within the team and across the wider business
  • Collaborate with academic and industry partners to stay at the forefront of catastrophe modeling
About You

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced professional with a strong background in catastrophe modeling, programming, and project management. Ideally, you will have a degree in Atmospheric Science, Meteorology, Hydrology, or Engineering. You will be a strong problem-solver with excellent communication skills and the ability to work under pressure.
