About the Role

Europcar is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fleet Manager to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the overall management of our fleet, ensuring efficient coordination of fleet movements and maximizing utilization and profitability.

Main Responsibilities

• Ensure regular maintenance and repair of vehicles, scheduling and overseeing preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.

• Manage vehicle inspections and certifications to ensure compliance with safety regulations.

• Optimize fleet utilization to reduce operational costs, implementing and monitoring fleet management software to track vehicle performance, fuel consumption, and other metrics.

• Enforce fleet policies and procedures, monitoring and controlling expenditures related to vehicle maintenance, fuel, and other fleet-related expenses.

• Analyze cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to reduce expenses, ensuring all fleet operations comply with company policy.

• Develop and implement safety programs and training for drivers, investigating and addressing any accidents or incidents involving fleet vehicles.

• Recruit, train, and supervise staff and other fleet personnel, monitoring staff performance and providing feedback and coaching.

Key Skills and Qualifications

• Leadership and Management: Strong ability to lead and manage a team effectively.

• Technical Knowledge: Understanding of vehicle mechanics and maintenance procedures.

• Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data and metrics to make informed decisions.

• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills to address and resolve operational issues.

• Organisational Skills: Exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities efficiently.

• Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail, especially in ensuring compliance and safety standards.

• Experience: Several years of experience in fleet management or a related field, with experience in logistics, transportation, or a similar industry being beneficial.
