Role Overview

We are in search of seasoned Quality Assurance Managers to join our expanding technology team. As part of our dynamic technology division, you will play a crucial role in enhancing an award-winning digital platform that supports over 2,000 entrepreneurial travel businesses. The addition of the QA Manager position aims to provide guidance and elevate the quality standards across our three product domains.

The QA Manager will be instrumental in ensuring the highest levels of quality and performance in our technology offerings. This position requires collaboration across all engineering teams within one of our product streams, mentoring QA Automation Engineers on test design and implementation, with a strong emphasis on automation, thereby enhancing our overall testing and automation strategy.

You will collaborate with various teams to assess the reliability of our technology platform through comprehensive testing methodologies, focusing on automation. Close cooperation with cross-functional teams will be essential to understand requirements, develop testing strategies, and implement automated tests to validate functionality, performance, and scalability across our product range.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Supervise all testing activities within the product stream during the development lifecycle, including functional, regression, performance, and security testing.
  • Contribute to the strategic direction of Quality Assurance at Travel Counsellors.
  • Monitor and report on test coverage, defect statuses, and other critical quality metrics.
  • Lead and mentor QA Automation Engineers, promoting a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with product owners, developers, and other stakeholders to comprehend requirements and define testing strategies.
  • Design, develop, and execute automated test scripts utilizing common testing frameworks and tools such as Selenium, SpecFlow, Pact, and Gatling.
  • Manage and configure test environments, ensuring stability and close alignment with production environments.
  • Implement and maintain automated test suites for functional, regression, and performance testing.
  • Identify, document, and track software defects, working closely with development teams to resolve issues.
  • Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and release management activities to ensure high-quality software releases.
  • Stay informed about emerging trends and best practices in software testing and automation.
  • Review automated and manual test cases, providing feedback to QA teams regarding test coverage and scope.
  • Identify and implement process enhancements to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of testing.
  • Collaborate across multiple teams to deliver the final product to the business efficiently.
  • Assist with testing platform enhancements, occasionally outside of regular hours to minimize business impact.
  • Support live releases and provide assistance to the release manager.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience in writing automated, browser-based, end-to-end functional tests using Selenium WebDriver, preferably with C#.
  • Hands-on experience in API testing (Postman, BDD using SpecFlow preferred, and contract testing using Pact).
  • Ability to conduct cross-device testing, including laptops and mobile devices.
  • Experience in preparing test plans, estimation, and status reporting.
  • Proficiency in writing performance tests to identify areas for platform improvement.
  • Strong knowledge of Git for version control.
  • Experience in manual testing (UAT/System/Regression).
  • Good understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD and Blue Green Deployments.
  • Experience collaborating with development and QA teams to derive test cases and scenarios.
  • Knowledge of testing microservices and the various types required, including unit, integration, contract, load, stress, security, and resiliency testing.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, supporting the business community.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS).
  • Any experience in supporting the travel industry is desirable.
