Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team at JLB Recruitment Ltd. As a Generator Engineer, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of diesel-driven generating sets and associated equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out pre-planned service and maintenance visits, site visits, and emergency call outs to ensure fault diagnosis and resolution.
  • Install new generators and switchgear, ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and in accordance with industry regulations.
  • Conduct site visits to ensure all necessary tools and equipment are available for tasks, and complete relevant paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Work closely with the service team to achieve high levels of productivity and efficiency.
  • Carry out on-call responsibilities on a rota basis, providing 24/7 support to clients.
Requirements
  • 17th Edition 2391 Inspection and Testing qualification.
  • City & Guilds ONC, BTEC ONC, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
  • City & Guilds IEE 17th Edition Regs qualification.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience as a time-served electrician.
  • Knowledge of most economical and effective layout of electrical installations.
  • Ability to achieve high levels of productivity and efficiency.
  • Good working knowledge of diesel-driven generator sets and control systems.
  • Sound technical knowledge and testing experience of electro/mechanical and electronic protection devices.
  • Experience and understanding of PLCs and microprocessor-based control systems.
  • Knowledge and experience of working on HV/LV switchgear up to and including 11kV (desirable).
Working Environment

This role will involve working at various sites throughout mainland UK, with occasional travel required. The successful candidate will be required to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in a variety of weather conditions.
