Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Regional Chef to join our team at Bright Horizons. As a Regional Chef, you will be responsible for leading our kitchen operations and ensuring that our nurseries provide high-quality, nutritious meals to our children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage kitchen operations, including menu planning, food preparation, and presentation.
  • Lead a team of chefs and kitchen staff to ensure that our nurseries meet the highest standards of food safety and quality.
  • Collaborate with our nursery teams to develop and implement healthy eating initiatives and menus that meet the dietary needs of our children.
  • Ensure that our kitchens are clean, safe, and well-maintained, adhering to internal and external regulations.
  • Develop and implement training programs for kitchen staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Monitor and control kitchen budgets, ensuring that we meet our financial targets.
  • Represent Bright Horizons in a professional and positive manner, promoting our brand and values.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in a senior culinary role, preferably in a childcare or education setting.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues, children, and parents.
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations, with the ability to ensure compliance in our kitchens.
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
  • Full UK driver's license and willingness to travel frequently.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Food Safety CIEH L2 or above, or equivalent.
  • Experience in cooking for young children in a commercial setting.
  • Understanding of EHO processes and procedures.
