About the Centre: The Leverhulme Centre for the Future of Intelligence (CFI) is a multidisciplinary research hub that tackles the complexities and prospects associated with artificial intelligence (AI). With affiliations to leading institutions and strong connections to industry and policymakers, CFI aims to foster a deeper understanding of AI's impact on society.
Key Responsibilities: The Research Assistant will assist Dr. Claire Benn in various aspects of research project development and execution. Responsibilities may include:
- Conducting literature reviews and synthesizing findings.
- Proofreading and editing research materials.
- Identifying pertinent case studies and examples.
- Providing general research support, including event organization.
Research Focus: Dr. Benn's work encompasses a broad spectrum of topics, emphasizing philosophical and interdisciplinary approaches to emerging technologies. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to, deepfakes, democratic processes, machine ethics, human-robot interactions, aesthetics, normative ethics, epistemology, autonomy, and design.
Qualifications: Candidates should possess, or be in the process of obtaining, a postgraduate degree in a field pertinent to AI ethics, data, and algorithms, ideally with a philosophical background. Applicants must demonstrate a strong commitment to the objectives of CFI and exhibit the ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively with others.
