Electronics Team Leader

We are seeking a highly skilled Electronics Team Leader to join our client's hardware team in Maidenhead. As a key member of the team, you will play a pivotal role in the technical leadership of a talented group of Hardware Engineers, specializing in both analogue and high-speed digital electronic hardware.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing invaluable hardware expertise and knowledge across a number of innovative research, development, and production programmes. You will work closely with the production team to ensure designs are suitable for volume production and support them in the rapid debugging and resolution of electronic hardware issues.
The main duties and responsibilities of this role include:
- Specifying, designing, and proving/verifying digital and analogue electronic hardware to deliver high-quality electronic hardware that meets requirements in a timely manner and within budget.
- Performing design calculations and carrying out simulations using industry-standard tools, and prototyping as required, to estimate performance, identify high-risk areas, and ensure high-quality designs that require minimal re-design.
- Developing and testing/verifying electronic hardware according to the hardware development process.
- Estimating time and effort required for electronic hardware activities and delivering to these time and effort estimates to ensure cost and schedule adherence.
- Providing technical direction and exerting technical influence across multiple projects, ensuring the optimal approach, architecture, and design are selected.
- Working with production test to ensure designs are suitable for volume production.
- Supporting production to assist them with the rapid debugging and resolution of electronic hardware issues encountered in order to minimize production delays.
- Working constructively with other team members, actively contributing to design reviews, to ensure a collaborative working environment.
To be considered for this role, we are looking for candidates with the following requirements:
- Willing and able to obtain, and maintain, DV security clearance.
- Degree in an Electrical or Electronic Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Must have developed large, complex designs requiring multi-layer PCBs (and PCB stack-up design).
- Extensive experience of one or more of the following:
- Experience of high-speed digital designs that include processors and programmable devices.
- Experience of analogue circuit design and switched-mode power supply design.
- Able to design reliable power supplies that meet requirements and analyze against all input and output conditions across temperature, and estimate performance accurately.
- Competent with schematic capture tools and understands how to constrain layout using rules/classes/groups.
