Position Overview
The Pharmacy Department at Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust is seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to fill the role of Lead Clinical Trials Pharmacy Technician. This is a permanent, part-time position within our collaborative and research-focused team, responsible for overseeing and managing the pharmacy services related to clinical trials.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will work closely with the Lead Pharmacist for Clinical Trials to ensure the effective delivery of pharmaceutical services in clinical research. Responsibilities include:
- Coordinating and maintaining the Clinical Trials service in compliance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and departmental protocols.
- Supporting the Lead Clinical Trials Pharmacist in optimizing the Pharmacy Clinical Trial Service across multiple sites.
- Communicating regularly with the Research and Development team to facilitate the setup and execution of clinical trials.
- Dispensing investigational medicinal products (IMPs) and ensuring proper documentation and accountability.
- Managing temperature monitoring for all IMPs and maintaining accurate records.
- Providing training and guidance to pharmacy staff regarding clinical trials and GCP compliance.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants must possess the following qualifications:
- Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Pharmacy Service Skills or equivalent.
- Current registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
- Up-to-date GCP training.
Experience in a hospital pharmacy setting for a minimum of one year is essential, along with a solid understanding of clinical trials from a pharmacy perspective.
