About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Research Associate to join our research project on infant language development at Lancaster University.

The successful candidate will be working on the project "The Origins of Infant Word Learning", which is funded by the Leverhulme Trust. This project aims to investigate how hearing words influences how 6- to 18-month-old infants see objects, how the ways that adults talk about objects lead to these effects, and how this process ultimately leads to word learning.

Your Responsibilities
  • Conducting infant behavioral research and contributing to the design and implementation of the project
  • Designing and conducting theoretically-driven developmental research, including data analysis and scientific writing
  • Collaborating with the research team to achieve project goals and objectives
  • Contributing to the development of open science practices and critical thinking
About You

We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in infant and/or language and cognitive development, with experience in conducting infant behavioral research and designing and conducting theoretically-driven developmental research.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
