Join Our Team as a Consultant Psychiatrist/Medical Director

Cygnet Hospital Kewstoke is seeking an exceptional Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team as a Medical Director. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and leading our medical services.

About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist who is passionate about delivering excellent patient care and leading a team of healthcare professionals. As a Medical Director, you will be responsible for overseeing the medical services at Cygnet Hospital Kewstoke, ensuring that our patients receive the best possible care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality patient care and lead our multidisciplinary team
  • Oversee the medical services at Cygnet Hospital Kewstoke
  • Develop and implement treatment plans in conjunction with the MDT
  • Assess referrals and undertake mental state examinations of service users
  • Undertake appropriate investigations, diagnosis, and treatment
  • Participate in ward rounds and clinical audits
  • Lead the implementation of risk assessment, risk management, and embed clinical governance
  • Supervise reports for Mental Health Act tribunals and managers' hearings and attend hearings
  • Participate in the 1 in 8 telephone on-call rota

Requirements
  • Fully GMC registered & MBBS (or equivalent) qualified
  • Registered on the specialist register (CCT/CESR), Section 12 and AC Status
  • Experienced and knowledgeable in adult psychiatry and mental health diagnosis
  • Knowledgeable of the Mental Health Act and Code of Practice
  • A first-rate communicator
  • Committed to continued professional development
  • Able to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • A member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (MRCPsych) or equivalent
