About the Role:

Hatched Talent Solutions is partnering with a leading engineering firm to hire several Mechanical Pipefitters/Welders on a permanent basis. Our partner specializes in comprehensive pipework and equipment solutions for liquid, pneumatic, and gas systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare vessels and equipment for Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) inspections.
  • Provide technical expertise and troubleshooting assistance for mechanical issues, including breakdowns.
  • Contribute to the development, implementation, and evaluation of maintenance programs and procedures across the site.
  • Assist in managing and coordinating spare parts to optimize stock levels related to pipefitting and welding operations.
  • Rigorously adhere to safe work systems and maintenance protocols.
  • Ensure a clean and organized work environment in all assigned areas.
  • Promptly report any unsafe conditions or incidents.
  • Offer mentorship, guidance, and training to junior team members.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of three years of experience in pipe fitting, welding, or fabrication, with a focus on hygienic stainless steel dairy tube welding, especially within the brewing industry.
  • Expertise in TIG welding, with the ability to work on thin-wall stainless steel dairy tubes and SS schedule tubing.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting pipework schematics and engineering drawings. Experienced in planning pipe and service routes that are both hygienic and aesthetically pleasing.
  • Confined space certification and MEWP/FLT experience are advantageous.
  • Certified to BS EN ISO 9606-1:2017, with experience in various welding processes, including arc and TIG welding. Experience with different grades of carbon and stainless steel, handling various pipe diameters, and working in all positions (PA, PC, PE, PF, PG, 6G) is highly desirable.
  • Skilled in conducting visual weld inspections according to ISO17637.
  • Mechanical fitting experience is a plus.
