Job Title: Senior Stress Engineer

CBSbutler is seeking a highly skilled Senior Stress Engineer to join their Design team.

The design department at CBSbutler designs new and modified rocket motors and related systems. As a Senior Stress Engineer, you will be responsible for analyzing rocket motor designs, including ballistic performance prediction and modelling, propellant charge and hardware stress analysis, and providing documentation services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform structural and thermal analysis of rocket motor systems using FEA software.
  • Develop and implement software and programming techniques, including Abaqus, Altair-Hyperworks, Fortran, and Matlab.
  • Conduct rheological analysis of material testing results and provide advice to the technical community for validation and verification of FEA models.
  • Develop motor structural test plans and participate in the delivery and assessment of structural testing results.
  • Act as the structural performance technical authority for assigned projects, including supporting project customer meetings, project investigations, design reviews, and corresponding customer stress engineers.
  • Deliver key project documentation, including structural analysis and structural test plans and reports, and structural design records.

Requirements:

  • Educated to degree level in an engineering discipline, such as Mechanical, Aerospace, or Structural, or a related discipline like Material Science.
  • Material science knowledge and experience with ABAQUS software in a professional or academic environment.
  • Experience with CAD modelling and a strong understanding of structural analysis and testing.
