Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant and Afterschool Club Support Worker

Job Type: Temporary, with potential for permanence

About the Role:

We are working with a 3-form entry Primary school with a GOOD Ofsted rating, seeking a dedicated and supportive SEN Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a KS1 child with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The ideal candidate will have experience working with children with ASD and be able to provide a supportive and nurturing environment to help the child progress through their Primary School years.

Responsibilities:

  • Work 1:1 with a KS1 child with ASD, providing individualized support and guidance to help them achieve their full potential
  • Support the child's educational and personal development, including assisting with homework and daily tasks
  • Collaborate with the child's teachers and other support staff to ensure a cohesive and effective support plan
  • Provide a safe and inclusive environment for the child, promoting their social, emotional, and academic growth

After-School Club Support:

From 3pm to 5:30pm, the school requires additional support in the afterschool club, working with a range of children aged 4 to 11. The ideal candidate will be able to provide a fun and engaging environment, supporting the children's social and emotional development, and helping them with their homework and daily tasks.

Requirements:

  • SEN experience preferred, but not essential
  • Ability to work 1:1 with a child with ASD and provide individualized support
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff
  • Commitment to providing a safe and inclusive environment for children
