Saffron Vantage Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Senior Cost Estimator to join our dynamic team of professionals in Cambridge.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop comprehensive cost plans from conceptual stages to detailed pricing, utilizing industry-standard software and methodologies.
  • Conduct thorough take-offs from drawings, utilizing Autodesk Design Review, to produce accurate cost plans and quantity checks.
  • Lead the tender process, allocating elemental BQ items into works packages, and collaborating with the supply chain to provide value engineering options.
  • Compare subcontractor quotations, identify scope gaps, and work with the supply chain to offer value engineering solutions.
  • Pricing site preliminaries, providing critical information on key risks and opportunities at tender settlement.
  • Utilize BCIS data to elementally benchmark, TPIs for inflation forecasting, and rebasing with location factorization.
  • Pricing competitive tenders under the direction of the estimating director.
  • Review contract and commercial data, attend client meetings, and present tender information to project teams.
  • Review tender documents prior to pricing and complete 'Enquiry Checklist' to determine pricing level.
  • Take off groundwork packages, complete 'Risk and Opportunity' Registers, and liaise with the buying department to obtain material quotations.
  • Pricing groundworks on Labour, Plant, and Materials basis for Pre-Construction Managers review.
  • Tender adjudication with the Commercial Director, pricing variations and additions, and creating material lists and obtaining and comparing quotations.
  • Conduct site visits and demonstrate a strong work ethic throughout your career.
Requirements:
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages, with experience in Causeway and Excel estimating software desired
  • Exceptional spoken and written English
  • A clear and professional telephone manner
  • Strong numeracy skills with the ability to think commercially
  • A team player, able to work under pressure, and strong time management skills
