Job Summary:

The East Boston Neighborhood Health Center is seeking a skilled Recreational Therapist to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, the successful candidate will work with participants to enhance motor, social, and cognitive abilities through engaging activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a diverse monthly calendar of recreational activities tailored to the needs and interests of participants.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure activities are appropriate for participants' cognitive and physical abilities.
  • Organize community outings and events to enrich the program calendar.
  • Train personal care assistants on new activities and assign responsibilities accordingly.
  • Facilitate morning huddles to coordinate daily activities.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field such as Therapeutic Recreation or Occupational Therapy.
  • Minimum of five years experience in a healthcare setting with activity planning responsibilities.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work with a diverse range of individuals.
  • Proficiency in computer applications for documentation and communication purposes.
  • Creativity, organization skills, and the ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Experience in supervising and training staff members.
