Role Overview: The Category Merchandiser will report directly to the Head of Commercial and will be an integral part of the Commercial team. This role is situated within a collaborative environment, focusing on various aspects such as Pricing, Rebate, Buying, Catalogue Management, and Website Merchandising. Achieving key trading metrics within the product category is essential to this position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the trading of a specific product category while achieving key trading metrics.
  • Oversee daily sales and profit objectives through effective pricing strategies, commercial negotiations, and competitor analysis.
  • Identify market opportunities and growth areas to enhance category performance.
  • Collaborate with a Growth specialist to ensure an exceptional customer experience within the product category.
  • Contribute to the promotional calendar in partnership with other Category Merchandisers and the Head of Commercial.
  • Negotiate deals and promotional investments with manufacturers and wholesalers.
  • Deliver annual growth in net margin and rebate metrics.
  • Provide weekly performance reports to the Senior Management team against established KPIs.
  • Work with the Marketing team to explore additional income opportunities.
  • Challenge external partners to maintain an industry-leading product catalogue with comprehensive coverage across all sizes and grades.
  • Collaborate with team members and other departments to identify and resolve customer pain points through automation and improved operational processes.
  • Stay informed about the latest trends and developments in the motoring industry.
