About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional Registered Children's Nurse to join our Paediatric Haemoglobinopathy team as a Clinical Nurse Specialist. The successful candidate will work closely with our Director of Nursing for Child Health, Lead Nurse, and matrons to further develop our children's services and teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality nursing care to children and young people with sickle-cell anaemia and thalassaemia.
  • Provide clinical advice and serve as a care coordinator for children and young people affected by haemoglobin disorders.
  • Work across the community and hospital setting to improve standards and equity of care while promoting an integrated care pathway.
  • Develop and implement research, development, and innovation initiatives to promote a progressive attitude to patient care.

We provide care for the residents of three diverse London boroughs, with a diverse workforce reflecting the communities we serve. Our services include all major specialties of large acute hospitals, and we operate from two main sites - King George Hospital in Goodmayes and Queen's Hospital in Romford.

We are proud of our regional Neurosciences Centre, Radiotherapy Centre, Hyper Acute Stroke Unit, and dedicated breast care service at King George Hospital. Our team is committed to delivering high-quality care and improving patient outcomes.

Requirements
  • Experience in caring for children and young people with sickle-cell anaemia and thalassaemia.
  • Experience in project management.
