Position: Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Location: Avonmouth, Bristol

Salary: £32,000 - £34,500 Starting Salary + 6% Employer/4% Employee Pension + Overtime at Time 0.5 & Days Holiday + Bank Holidays + Life Assurance + Discount Benefits Scheme + Uniform

Working Hours: 8am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday (39 hours a week)

We are seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a prominent and internationally recognized manufacturer specializing in materials handling solutions. This role offers a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package.

The ideal candidate will possess a background in mechanical service and repair, with experience in various types of machinery including plant equipment, forklifts, HGVs, or agricultural machinery. Candidates with automotive experience are also encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct planned maintenance and repairs on a diverse range of forklift trucks.
  • Perform pre-delivery inspections (PDI) and service tasks in a workshop environment.
  • Manage the ordering of spare parts as required.
  • Utilize overtime opportunities as needed, compensated at time and a half for hours exceeding 39 per week.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Experience with plant machinery, forklifts, HGVs, agricultural equipment, or similar vehicles.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Proficient in IT and capable of using relevant software.
  • Ideally possess a Level 3 qualification or equivalent in a related field.
