Role Description:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced individual to join our Carpentry and Joinery team as a Lecturer. You will play a vital role in delivering high-quality vocational training programs, assessing student progress, and driving curriculum development within the field.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop apprentices' skills to meet industry standards, tailoring instruction to individual needs and employer requirements.
  • Plan and deliver engaging teaching sessions, incorporating diverse learning methods and utilizing college systems for assessment.
  • Assess apprentices' competencies against national standards and ensure the accuracy of assessments through internal verification processes.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and employers to develop innovative training initiatives and contribute to curriculum enhancements.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of current industry trends and best practices, ensuring that training programs remain relevant and up-to-date.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • A proven track record in carpentry or joinery with a minimum qualification level 3.
  • A1 Assessor qualification is essential, and V1 Verifier qualification is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • A passion for teaching and a commitment to student success.
