The Injury Management Advisor plays a critical role in ensuring the quality of decision-making within claims management, promoting consistency in approach and compliance to legislation. This position requires providing clinical and injury management technical expertise to assess personal injury claims for reasonable and appropriate/necessary treatment and rehabilitation requirements, enabling the department to achieve claims management objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Review claim files and provide subject matter expertise to claims handlers, including interpreting medical reports, providing injury management advice, and determining rehabilitation and treatment requirements.
- Prepare professional written and verbal advice to claims handlers on reasonable and appropriate/necessary treatment and rehabilitation services and recommendations for future rehabilitation management.
- Provide consistent injury management expertise and support to ensure ongoing quality decisions and provide input into claims strategy.
- Work within the designated Delegation of Authority.
- Engage and negotiate with Service Providers, Claimants, Solicitors, and claims staff.
- Degree in Allied Health-related discipline is mandatory.
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience.
- Minimum 2 years Workers Compensation/CTP Experience - Desired.
- Minimum 2 years Occupational Rehabilitation experience (desired for Workers Compensation).
- Ability to identify developmental needs of team members and recommend training activities to achieve positive outcomes.
