AESSEAL plc is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Fitter/Technician to join our team at our Rotherham HQ. As a key member of our global structure, you will play a vital role in identifying, understanding, and incorporating corrective action on all seal types, both wet and dry, but predominantly dry gas seals.
Key Responsibilities- Provide hands-on support for setting up test equipment, building and dismantling mechanical seals, carrying out routine maintenance of rigs and equipment, and ensuring the correct procedures are followed.
- Deal with all aspects of seal preparation, including lapping, shot blasting, laser etching, cleaning, fitting, measuring, and associated documentation.
- Collect data and observations from tests, interrogate, and clearly communicate the findings in the form of a test report to the responsible engineer.
- Ensure tests are carried out in a timely and safe manner.
- Thoroughly strip and inspect returned seals and compile accurate condition reports.
- Communicate with external/internal suppliers and customers clearly and effectively.
- Maintain calibration of key items of instrumentation and maintain traceable history.
- Work as part of the Test House team as well as working independently.
- Work flexibly according to reasonable demands.
- HNC Level or equivalent.
- Good hands-on practical skills.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings.
- Proficient in the use of key Microsoft Office packages, Word and Excel.
- Good organisational skill.
- Desirable knowledge of pumps and compressors.
- Understanding of calibration and instrumentation.
- Good knowledge of mechanical seals (Wet and Dry).
- Experience in a workshop environment.
- Experience with rotating equipment (manufacturing, design, or build).
- Desirable experience with instrumentation, report writing, and mechanical seals.
- Desire to provide exceptional customer service.
- Eager to assist in the continuous improvement of the organisation.
- Ability to promote, participate in Health, Safety & Environmental policies.
- Ability to promote, embrace, and manage change.
