SEN Teaching Assistant Opportunity

Empowering Learning is working with a Primary and Secondary School in Guildford who are seeking a full-time SEN Teaching Assistant to start ASAP.

The school is a SEND school, and we are looking for someone who is passionate about supporting the children's development.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting pupils with communication, learning, and independence in a safe and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting pupils with various SEND needs 1:1
  • Supervising pupil's behaviour and encouraging positive behaviour in the classroom
  • Encouraging and supporting the children in their learning and development
  • Supporting social interaction
  • Assisting the teacher in preparing for lessons and planning activities

Requirements:

  • Experience supporting children with learning difficulties or disabilities
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with students with special educational needs
  • Strong communication skills
  • A passion and desire to work in either Mainstream or SEND learning environments
