Telent Technology Services Limited is seeking a Junior Traffic Systems Maintenance Engineer to join our skilled team of Traffic Signal professionals in the Kent area.

This role is field-based, and candidates must possess a valid UK driving license and be prepared to travel throughout the Kent region.

Joining our Engineering Team at Telent means you will have the chance to innovate and collaborate with technical experts who take pride in their contributions to critical infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Junior Traffic Systems Maintenance Engineer, you will collaborate with experienced Traffic Engineers to diagnose, repair, maintain, and test various Traffic Signals and associated electrical equipment across the Kent region.

Your training will be a blend of practical, on-the-job experience and classroom learning, allowing you to work towards an NVQ Level 2 in Highways Electrical Installations (LANTRA) and obtain sector-specific certifications such as ECS/HERS and the National Highways Sector Scheme (NHSS) Chapter 8.

Candidate Profile:
We are looking for individuals who are naturally inclined to be hands-on and are enthusiastic about learning new skills. The opportunity to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical equipment, particularly in Traffic Signalling, should excite you.

While prior experience in Electrical installations or maintenance is advantageous, it is not mandatory as long as you are committed to learning.

Possession of a City & Guilds/NVQ or equivalent qualification in Electrical Installations is a significant advantage.

If you enjoy outdoor work and are comfortable with physically demanding tasks, this role is ideal for you.

Essential Skills and Attributes:
- Highly motivated and eager to learn through practical experience and online resources
- Strong problem-solving abilities and innovative thinking
- Valid UK Driving Licence
- Willingness to undergo a Drugs & Alcohol test for compliance
- Availability for standby duties once fully trained
- Excellent communication skills to engage with various stakeholders at different levels.
