Senior Underwriter Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Underwriter to join our Medical Malpractice and Life Sciences team at AXIS Capital. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for underwriting a wide range of medical professionals and Life Sciences business via both open market and delegated channels in the UK and worldwide.

Key Responsibilities
  • Underwrite individual risks and develop a deep understanding of the medical malpractice and Life Sciences industries.
  • Act within established guidelines to market, analyse, review, evaluate and monitor new and renewal accounts of all medical malpractice and Life Sciences business.
  • Exercise independent judgement in the processing of accounts and management of underwriting activities.
  • Take a lead position within the Medical Malpractice team, developing both the book as a whole and the wider team.
  • Report on an ad hoc basis regarding pipelines, new opportunities and progress towards strategic goals.
Requirements
  • Significant experience underwriting in medical malpractice, life sciences or a similar line.
  • Ability to identify strategic growth areas and to highlight any potential threats to the profitability of the account.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
