Join our dedicated sampling team
Ensuring the safety of drinking water is paramount; it undergoes thorough cleaning, disinfection, and testing before reaching consumers. After usage, the water is processed through our wastewater facilities, where it is treated and tested to protect the environment.
Our team analyzes and tests numerous clean water and wastewater samples daily.
Key Responsibilities:
As a member of the scientific sampling team, you will utilize your systematic and scientific skills to travel throughout the Norfolk region, visiting water treatment facilities, recycling centers, boreholes, reservoirs, rivers, and customer locations to collect water samples and perform on-site chlorine assessments.
Adhering to essential scientific protocols, you will consistently operate within regulatory frameworks, upholding our quality benchmarks. You will prepare various sampling containers, ensuring the precision of each sample collected; subsequently, you will return these samples to the laboratory for comprehensive analysis.
Your contributions are vital to the overall scientific evaluation process; your work truly makes a difference.
You will foster effective working relationships with laboratory colleagues who depend on your high service standards, and you will also interact with customers, representing Anglian Water in a professional and friendly manner while delivering outstanding customer service.
Required Qualifications:
A scientific background or A Level qualification (or equivalent) is essential; you should also be a dependable and professional individual with a track record of excellent customer service.
Comfort with manual lifting and driving throughout the day is necessary. This role will involve working in diverse environments, so a flexible and proactive attitude is crucial.
The ability to follow defined methods and accurately document information requires focus and strong attention to detail. Successful candidates will enjoy driving and working independently while being part of a larger team.
You should excel in a time-sensitive role, be self-driven, and capable of working in an organized manner, ensuring all tasks are completed as outlined by our methods and procedures.
Employee Benefits:
- Competitive pension scheme – Anglian Water double-matches your contributions up to 6%
- Personal private health care
- Annual bonus scheme
- 25 days leave, increasing with service + Bank Holidays, with the option to swap holidays for those celebrated by your religion
- Life Cover at 8x your salary
- Personal Accident cover – up to 5x your salary
- Flexible benefits to support your wellbeing and lifestyle
- Additional perks including discounts on mobile contracts, cinema tickets, and a Cycle2Work scheme
- Free parking at all locations
- Family-friendly policies, including generous maternity/adoption leave and paternity/partner pay
If selected for this position, you will have access to a company vehicle; a full UK driving license is required. A Basic DBS check will also be necessary.
