Position: Qualified Practitioner Level One or Two
Sector: Social Care
Focus: Adult Care and Community Wellbeing
Salary: Competitive
Type: Permanent
Hours: Full-time
We are pleased to present an opportunity within our Learning Disability Team for a Qualified Nurse or Social Worker, referred to as Qualified Practitioners Level One or Two based on experience.
The role of a Qualified Practitioner is both rewarding and demanding. Ideal for individuals who thrive in dynamic environments and are dedicated to making a positive impact, this position is integral to our Learning Disability team, which prides itself on delivering exceptional service.
Role Overview
As a Qualified Practitioner, you will manage a diverse caseload that includes complex cases. Your work will be centered around a Person-Centred approach, conducting strength-based Adult Needs Assessments and Reviews that emphasize the capabilities of individuals rather than their limitations. Collaborating with service users and their families, you will work to enhance their independence.
Our mission is to empower individuals to achieve their personal goals and aspirations, whether that involves securing employment, accessing community resources, or transitioning to independent living. We are committed to helping individuals navigate challenges and reach their full potential.
Travel to various appointments is a requirement of this role, which may involve out-of-county travel. It is essential that you can travel efficiently and respond to last-minute appointments, necessitating access to personal transportation.
Travel expenses will be reimbursed for journeys made from the office to appointments.
Our standard office hours are Monday to Thursday from 08:45 to 17:15 and Friday from 08:45 to 16:45. Currently, we operate a hybrid model that includes both home-based and office work, with a requirement to be present in the office as needed.
Candidate Profile
We take pride in our teams and the services we provide, making it crucial to recruit individuals who align with our values and can offer the best support to our teams and service users.
The ideal candidate will possess either a Social Work or Nursing qualification and maintain current registration with the relevant professional body. Note: The nursing qualification does not need to be specifically in Learning Disability.
This position is not suitable for newly qualified candidates who have not yet completed their ASYE.
Successful candidates will demonstrate the following skills and attributes:
- A proactive attitude with strong self-motivation and enthusiasm.
- Respect for individuals, ensuring dignity in all interactions.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to understand both verbal and non-verbal cues and the confidence to exercise professional curiosity.
- Creative problem-solving abilities.
- Capability to perform well under pressure or in emergency situations.
A comprehensive Person Specification is available in the attached Job Description, and it is recommended that you review this prior to applying.
About the Team
The Learning Disability team is dedicated to providing high-quality service and takes pride in their work. Our team members possess a diverse range of knowledge and skills, fostering a supportive and nurturing environment.
Our Offer
We value our teams' achievements and experiences. It is essential that our Practitioners feel recognized and supported, as our staff are our most important asset. We conduct regular one-on-one meetings and weekly team discussions.
In addition to a competitive salary, we offer:
- A comprehensive pension scheme
- Reimbursement for professional registration fees
- Opportunities for career advancement, including Practice Educator/AMHP and management training when applicable
- A generous annual leave package
