Financial Accountant Job Overview

The Financial Accountant plays a crucial role in overseeing the accounting operations for the European sector of Product Madness (U.K) Limited. Collaborating closely with the Financial Controller, this position is essential for ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance. The successful candidate will take charge of the monthly closing procedures, maintain thorough balance sheet reconciliations, execute bank reconciliations, and manage fixed asset records, among other responsibilities. A Qualified Accountant with robust technical accounting expertise and the capacity to work autonomously is preferred.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the monthly closing procedures for the European division
  • Ensure accuracy in balance sheet reconciliations
  • Conduct bank reconciliations
  • Administer the fixed asset register
  • Review and authorize financial transactions
  • Assist with year-end audit processes
  • Address various ad hoc tasks, including tax-related inquiries
Qualifications:
  • Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent)
  • Strong technical proficiency in accounting
  • Experience in month-end closing activities
  • Familiarity with Intangible Assets (IAS 38) and Leases (IFRS 16)
  • Advanced skills in Excel and preferably Microsoft Dynamics 365
  • Ability to work independently and demonstrate effective problem-solving skills
