Job Description

Kenton Black Finance is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to join their team in a hybrid or office role. The successful candidate will possess full end-to-end payroll processing experience and be able to work autonomously, providing mentorship, leadership, and support to a small team of payroll administrators.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process and manage weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payrolls via IRIS Payroll Professional.
  • Mentor and train a small team of administrators, providing technical support and delegating tasks as needed.
  • Provide clients with payroll reports and updates, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, addressing their queries and concerns.
  • Deal with HMRC queries and RTI, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
  • Process SMP, SSP, and other payroll-related tasks.
  • Manage pensions auto-enrolment procedures, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
  • Process starters and leavers, P45 and P46 forms, and set up new clients.
  • Provide extensive client liaison and interaction, building strong relationships and ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Process BACS payments, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.

Person Specification:

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Full end-to-end payroll processing experience, with a strong understanding of payroll software and systems.
  • Team leadership and management skills, with the ability to mentor and train others.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • A strong understanding of pensions auto-enrolment procedures and HMRC regulations.
  • The ability to work autonomously, with minimal supervision, and to prioritize tasks effectively.
