Welcome to Hovis Ltd. With over 130 years of baking heritage, we take pride in our iconic brand and the quality of our bread and bakery products. Each day, we deliver approximately 1.3 million loaves across the UK and Ireland, including our well-known Mothers Pride and Ormo products.
Our workforce consists of 2,800 dedicated individuals spread across 8 bakeries, 1 flour mill, and 2 regional distribution centers throughout the UK. Our achievements stem from the commitment and expertise of our team members in various fields such as baking, manufacturing, logistics, engineering, and central functions at our head office.
Position Overview:
The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure that all products designated for dispatch meet the required quantities and quality standards, and are assembled and loaded according to customer deadlines.
This position involves building effective working relationships with Drivers, Dispatch Operatives, Technical Service Operatives, and Bakery management.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, particularly regarding Health, Safety, and Hygiene, including the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment while on site.
- Maintain a professional standard of behavior and appearance that reflects positively on the company, including wearing the company uniform.
- Participate in training programs to ensure proficiency in all departmental duties.
- Accurately receive the correct products and quantities into Dispatch.
- Efficiently pick and assemble individual customer orders.
- Reconcile available products against those scheduled for dispatch.
- Load and unload vehicles, both company-owned and third-party.
- Safely operate necessary equipment for dispatch tasks, including rola-trucs, forklifts, and basketeers.
- Maintain product coding and uphold product quality standards.
- Perform additional tasks as required for the smooth operation of the dispatch department.
