Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Purchasing Manager to join our team at Uniting People. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for coordinating purchasing activities, managing resources, and developing budgets for all materials and subcontracted supply chain activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sourcing and Supplier Management: Identify and approve new suppliers, ensuring strategies and preferred partners are communicated effectively to all stakeholders.
- Cost Management: Work with Engineering leads and Cost Estimation to agree cost targets and delivery of these targets through the project process.
- Annual Budgeting: Compile and deliver annual budgets, focusing on cost management and improved levels of transparency.
- Performance Reviews: Set objectives for QDCR (quality, delivery, cost, risk) performance reviews, ensuring that there is sufficient installed capacity within the supply chain to achieve the 5-year plan volumes.
- Supply Chain Management: Manage escalations from Supply Chain, including root cause analysis and ensuring continuity of supply.
- Team Leadership: Manage and develop direct reports, through conducting appraisals and performance reviews, internal/external development, leadership, and support.
- Supplier Development: Utilize Supplier Dashboard data and information to make recommendations in relation to supplier selection and improvement.
Candidate Requirements:
- Purchasing Experience: Proven experience in purchasing in a manufacturing environment.
- Commercial Acumen: Excellent commercial acumen, with the ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
- Certifications: CIPS qualified or part-qualified, with a willingness to study further.
- Engineering Understanding: Engineering or design understanding is preferable.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders.
- Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, maintain accurate records, and prioritize workload efficiently.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in computer skills and familiarity with Google Suite would be an advantage.
