Senior Estimator - Gatwick Airport

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join our team at Gatwick Airport. As a key member of our commercial team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Lead Commercial Manager in delivering the strategic aims and objectives of the business.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide accurate early-stage financial estimates and cost plans to support cost control and ensure successful project completion within allocated budgets.
  • Support the development and maintenance of estimating processes and procedures, ensuring alignment with current best practices.
  • Collaborate with project teams to apply estimating processes and procedures, and provide clear templates for presenting estimates and cost plans.
  • Manage the utilisation of cost management structures to facilitate transparent cost comparisons throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Cultivate relationships with other airports and client organisations to establish a community for sharing data and establishing external benchmarks.
  • Define and produce metrics for evaluating the cost-effectiveness of project estimates.
Requirements:
  • Degree-level education in a relevant engineering, construction, or business-related field.
  • Experience as a Cost Planner/Senior Estimator on multi-year programmes/projects with a value above £50m in a relevant industry.
  • Experience in designing business processes for cost estimating, preferably in a high-performing organisation.
  • Delivery of infrastructure projects in a live operational environment is highly desirable.
