Position Overview:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Industrial Maintenance Specialist at a leading industrial gases production facility. The successful candidate will be part of a dedicated team of engineers responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of equipment on-site and at associated locations.

Ideal Candidate:
This role is suited for an experienced technician with a solid engineering background, particularly in centrifugal and reciprocating compressors and pumps. A thorough understanding of permit-to-work systems and contractor management is essential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the maintenance program for all production-related activities.
  • Ensure the SAP plant maintenance system is accurately maintained.
  • Authorize Permits to Work, ensuring safe procedures are followed while minimizing production impact.
  • Develop and adhere to local work instructions that comply with BOC standards and H&SE regulations.
  • Complete actions identified in the SHEQ plan.
  • Conduct monthly Planned General Inspections and Management Checklists.
  • Report defective equipment and coordinate repairs or replacements.
  • Prepare reports for both the company and clients as necessary.
  • Provide cover for callouts and identify opportunities to enhance gas recovery.
  • Manage helium liquefiers to optimize performance and diagnose faults.
  • Collaborate closely with Production, Maintenance, Engineering, and Contractors to execute all maintenance activities.

Knowledge and Experience Required:
  • City & Guilds or equivalent apprenticeship in Electrical, Mechanical, or Instrumentation.
  • Familiarity with pressure systems and a strong understanding of compressor operations.
  • Ability to address equipment issues as they arise.
  • A valid driving license is required.
  • Knowledge of helium liquefiers and purifiers is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Basic understanding of process and instrumentation is beneficial.
  • Awareness of relevant Health and Safety legislation and regulations.
  • Proficient in manual handling techniques and ladder usage.
  • Good working knowledge of MS-Word, MS-Excel, and email communication.
  • A strong commitment to safety and high personal integrity.
