As a Culinary Specialist, your responsibilities will include:
Assisting the Head Chef in the daily operations of the kitchen. Ensuring proper food storage practices and stock rotation in accordance with established protocols. Preparing, planning, and cooking meals to consistently high standards, accommodating special requests or dietary needs. Serving meals to service users, staff, and visitors with professionalism and courtesy. Preparing and producing food for conferences and special events. Participating in food cost management through effective cost control measures. Complying with 'Safer Food Better Business' standards and maintaining accurate records. Strictly adhering to Food Hygiene Regulations and safety protocols at all times. Taking full responsibility for the catering operations during your shift. Supporting the Head Chef in researching and developing new menus that align with high-quality standards and healthy eating guidelines. Accurately maintaining all documentation related to the Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) system, including temperature logs and cleaning schedules.To excel in this role, you will need:
To be at least 18 years old. GCSE or equivalent in English. City & Guilds 706/1 and 2 (or equivalent) in Basic Food Preparation and Cooking. Basic Food Hygiene certification (essential). Intermediate Food Hygiene certification (desirable). Previous experience in a similar culinary environment. Experience in delivering large-scale food services. Skills in menu planning, costing, ordering, stock management, and budgeting.Work Environment:
You will provide care and support to young individuals aged 12-18 facing eating disorders or related challenges, often accompanied by mental health issues such as depression, OCD, anxiety, or self-harm.
