**Job Summary**
Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) is seeking a highly motivated and proactive individual to join our team as a Senior Protection Manager. This role will oversee the work of our Protection teams across Greater Manchester, ensuring the safety of our communities.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Oversee the development, planning, and delivery of Protection activities, including regulatory enforcement, fire scene investigation, business engagement, and support to communities, businesses, and other organizations.
- Play a key role in developing our next Protection Strategy and deliver projects to support our commitments and the ambitions of the next Fire Plan.
- Act as a subject matter specialist and lead on the development of partnership initiatives with local, regional, and national stakeholders.
- Deliver regulatory work, assess risk, and make informed decisions in accordance with all relevant legislation, Government, and organizational guidance.
- Lead on the development of specialized Fire Safety Teams, including a Risk Reduction Team, an Investigations and Enforcement Team, a Technical and Consultations Team, and a Higher Risk Team.
**Requirements**
- Extensive experience in delivering regulatory work and risk assessment.
- Ability to work well under pressure and take the initiative.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to inspire confidence from partners and the public.
- Essential car user allowance is payable for this role, and a driving license and access to a vehicle are required.
