Job Opportunity: SEND Specialist Tutor

Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated and experienced SEND Specialist Tutor to provide one-to-one tuition to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) who are unable to access mainstream education.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a passionate and creative tutor to support students with SEN in the Cullompton area. Many students with SEN have become disengaged with their learning, and we aim to provide a supportive and structured environment to help them regain their confidence and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and deliver tailored lesson plans to bridge gaps in students' education and boost attainment levels
  • Work with students who have struggled to stay in the classroom, feel anxious about attending school, or have needs that are not being met
  • Support students to re-engage with their learning, develop structure in their daily routine, and continue their educational development
  • Submit weekly reports to monitor students' progress and work closely with Prospero Teaching to ensure the best possible outcomes

Requirements

  • QTS or equivalent qualification
  • UK classroom teaching experience or experience working with SEN children in a care environment
  • Experience supporting young people with SEN is essential
  • Be creative, patient, and willing to think outside the box
  • Have experience working with challenging behavior and disengaged pupils

Eligibility

  • Hold the right to work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
