Overview: Teaching Personnel is collaborating with a client school to present an exciting opportunity for a Cover Manager. This role is essential for establishing effective and efficient cover arrangements throughout the educational institution. The successful candidate will manage cover administration and maintain communication with external agencies, the Principal's PA, and teaching staff. Additionally, they will oversee the Cover Supervisors to ensure a high standard of service delivery and will be responsible for providing cover as necessary.
About the Institution:
The school is centrally located and has received a 'Good' rating from Ofsted. It boasts a warm and welcoming atmosphere, making it an enjoyable workplace. The administration and HR teams are highly supportive, providing an excellent environment for professional development alongside experienced staff members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor the cover absence line and emails each morning from 7am.
- Coordinate with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), Principal, and Principal's PA regarding long-term absences and planned events.
- Engage with agencies to secure cover support.
- Develop the daily cover rota for the school.
- Provide daily briefings, lesson details, and class information for supply staff.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Demonstrated experience in a similar role within an educational environment, with a comprehensive understanding of school operations.
- Exceptional organizational and communication abilities, capable of managing multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- In-depth knowledge of the secondary school curriculum and educational framework.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and school management software.
- Strong leadership capabilities with the ability to inspire and manage a team of cover supervisors and supply teachers.
- Effective problem-solving skills, able to handle unexpected situations with composure.
