CBSbutler is seeking a highly skilled Principal Systems Engineer to join our team on a large-scale Electronic Counter-Measures (ECM) programme. As a key member of our Systems Engineering Function, you will work across the entire system lifecycle, from concept to delivery.

About the Role

We are looking for a seasoned systems engineer with a broad range of expertise in the Defence industry, particularly in Electronic Warfare and/or Countermeasures domain. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Requirements Capture and Management: Work alongside internal stakeholders to understand user needs and requirements, defining and influencing system requirements and designs to ensure traceability for design compliance and acceptance.
  • Test Strategy and Execution: Develop and run test strategies to demonstrate design and implementation compliance, ensuring end-to-end traceability to achieve certification.
  • System Integration and Verification: Support system integration, verification, and validation activities to test and analyse performance and effectiveness.
  • Engineering Specifications and Reporting: Develop and deliver engineering specifications, reports, and presentations.

Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A solid foundation in a relevant technical domain exploited in an EW systems context/application.
  • High proficiency in requirements generation and management using IBM DOORS.
  • Experience of authoring detailed design artefacts in support of requirements specifications.
  • Good understanding of design compliance and acceptance criteria relating to requirements and architecture progressive verification and validation at varying stages of maturity.
  • Strong understanding of systems engineering principles across the development lifecycle.
