Associate Director/Director Designate Civils Opportunity

Fortis Recruitment Solutions is seeking an experienced Associate Director/Director Designate Civils to join our consultancy supporting the development industry. Our client is an independent provider of flood risk, infrastructure, and highways design services.

As the Associate Director/Director Designate Civils, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating detailed design and implementation of projects throughout the construction phase. You will manage multiple projects simultaneously, requiring strong time management skills. You will be supported by an experienced technical team, which you will be expected to manage and delegate tasks accordingly.

The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of financial and contractual aspects of planning, bidding, and delivering on both large and small client projects. You will also have a proven career history in client care and business development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate detailed design and implementation of projects
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Manage and delegate tasks to an experienced technical team
  • Support financial and commercial management through calculated project management
  • Strong knowledge of financial and contractual aspects of planning, bidding, and delivering on client projects

Essential Skills:

  • BSc or MSc in Civil Engineering
  • Chartered status with at least 8-10 years of commercial experience
  • Strong knowledge of legal processes, planning, design, design software, adoption, and contract procedures
  • Knowledge of relevant design codes, including sewers for adoption, SUDS manual, Water Industry Act, and water environment
  • Drawings for contract documents S104, S106, S185, S38, S98, S278
  • Relevant software MicroDrainage & AutoCAD
