Job Title: Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our team at VanRath. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing equipment and plant machinery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and guide the maintenance team in ensuring optimal upkeep of all machinery and equipment, focusing on reducing downtime and enhancing overall operational efficiency.
  • Promote the use of root cause analysis for equipment failures, developing and executing both corrective and contingency plans, while providing clear updates to site management.
  • Oversee the creation and execution of maintenance schedules for production machinery, with a focus on maximising Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and controlling maintenance expenses.
  • Ensure all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are up-to-date, technically accurate, and aligned with the current maintenance programme.
  • Maintain full compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations and policies in relation to the maintenance team's operations.
  • Supervise third-party contractors, ensuring all necessary documentation, such as risk assessments and method statements, is in place before work begins on site.
Requirements:
  • Time-served apprenticeship or relevant qualifications in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering (City & Guilds, BTEC, HNC/HND, or equivalent).
  • 3+ years post-apprenticeship experience or 1 year post-apprenticeship experience.
  • Familiarity with CMMS and proficiency in using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
