Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Laboratory Support Specialist to join our team. As a Laboratory Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our laboratory facilities, providing technical support to our scientific staff, and contributing to the delivery of high-quality blood and tissue products.
Main Responsibilities
- Prepare samples for testing and storage, perform analytical tests, and maintain laboratory equipment.
- Provide technical support to qualified scientific staff, including troubleshooting and resolving equipment issues.
- Assist in the training and development of other support staff, promoting a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless laboratory operations, including receiving and processing blood and tissue donations.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of laboratory procedures and protocols, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational standards.
Requirements
- BTEC/HNC in a Science or relevant subject, or equivalent knowledge and experience in a laboratory or manufacturing environment.
- Experience working with IT systems, including Microsoft Office, and a willingness to learn new technologies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to work variable hours, including weekends and bank holidays, as required by the roster.
