About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Pipelines Technician - Network Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Northern Gas Networks. As a key member of our Network Maintenance team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our gas network.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake maintenance activities on cathodic protection systems and repair and replace components
- Work on gas pipelines and associated assets, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental best practices
- Prepare reports and provide information, guidance, and advice to stakeholders and management on technical matters
- Maintain accurate records of activities to satisfy maintenance and capital projects, gas network, and legislative requirements
- Work towards all perimeter requirements and procedures affecting the gas network
- Continually ensure a high standard of customer and stakeholder service at all times
Requirements
- Experience working in a gas network and an understanding of pipeline operations
- Ability to plan work efficiently and demonstrate comprehension of engineering principles
- Use of IT in the field for work reporting
- Comfortable with lone working out of hours and self-motivated with strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills
- Proactive attitude and strong team player with ability to work on own initiative
- Knowledge of codes of practice, engineering instructions, and safety requirements
- Hold a full UK driving license

- Salary starting from £42,354 dependent on qualifications and experience rising to £45,533 once fully competent in line with the competency pay matrix
- Bonus + Incentives + Overtime + Standby + Van
- 25 days holiday per year, plus 8 days bank holiday, plus 2 half days (Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve)
- Statutory Sick Pay for first 7 calendar days then Occupational sick pay thereafter
