Job Title: PMLD Teaching Assistant

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Teaching Assistant to work in a Specialist School catering for educational needs.

The successful candidate will support the school on a full-time basis, working Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist learners 1:1 and on some occasions with personal care
  • Support the teacher as directed
  • Carry out all duties as directed by teachers to maximise learning opportunities for all pupils and young people
  • Assist with target setting, record keeping and assessment in classes
  • Participate in and complete reports for Statutory Reviews and meetings concerning the pupils and young people
  • Assist with the planning and preparation of materials and learning resources
  • Be a role model to the pupils and young people
  • Supervise pupils and young people outside classroom activities, e.g. mealtimes and recreation times, as requested
  • Ensure safeguarding is adhered to constantly

Requirements:

  • Preferred: Experience with PLMD, including Care Work and Personal experience
  • GCSE's minimum of 5, graded A* - C
  • Preferred: Driving License
  • Preferred: Experience with young people
  • DBS Enhanced Child Only – We can help you with this
  • EWC - We can help you with this
  • Safeguarding Level 2, we provide the training for this

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
