Job Title: Senior Digital Editor

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Digital Editor to join our content production team at Hello Limited. As a key member of our editorial team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of content across our digital platforms.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Edit and fact-check copy for accuracy, clarity, and style adherence, ensuring content meets the highest editorial standards.
  • Manage tight deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively to ensure timely delivery of content for print editions and online publication.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, audience preferences, and celebrity, royal, and lifestyle events to inform editorial decisions and content development strategies.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of editorial style guides and standards to uphold consistency and quality across all published content.
  • Mentor and help train younger writers.
  • Support the magazine editor, website editor, and their senior team to publish on deadline on all platforms.
Requirements:
  • Strong subediting skills across digital and print platforms with a proven ability to edit copy quickly, accurately, and to the highest standard.
  • Exceptional editing skills with a meticulous attention to detail and a thorough understanding of grammar, punctuation, and style across all platforms.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, and the ability to work fast and stay cool under pressure of digital breaking news deadlines.
  • Strong command of headline writing and other page/digital furniture with the ability to craft compelling and SEO-friendly headlines for digital content.
  • Proficiency in print production software, digital editing tools, and content management systems, and experience using workflow tools such as Trello.
  • A keen interest in analytics and a desire to constantly tweak strategy to react to data.
  • Flexible and committed, and full of ideas for how to improve products and processes.
  • A strong understanding of editorial compliance and regulatory issues, plus up-to-date knowledge of media law.
  • Experience as a subeditor on a national newspaper or news website with a demonstrable interest in entertainment news and lifestyle content.
Qualifications:
  • Degree in English, journalism, communications, or a related field.
