Mathematics Educator

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Maths Teacher to join our team at a small, specialist school in the UK. As a Maths Teacher, you will play a vital role in delivering engaging and differentiated Maths lessons to students who have experienced trauma.

• Teaching and Learning: Deliver high-quality Maths lessons that cater to the individual needs of our students, promoting a love of learning and confidence in mathematical abilities.
• Classroom Environment: Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment using trauma-informed strategies, ensuring students feel safe and valued.
• Collaboration and Teamwork: Work closely with our multidisciplinary team, including SEN specialists and mental health professionals, to provide holistic support for each student.
• Assessment and Progress: Track and assess student progress, adapting teaching methods to ensure every student can succeed.
• Professional Development: Contribute to the development of individual education plans (IEPs) and participate in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching practices.

• Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience teaching Maths at the secondary level.
• Understanding of Trauma-Informed Practices: An understanding of trauma-informed practices or a willingness to undertake training in this area.
• Compassion and Flexibility: A compassionate, patient, and flexible approach, with a strong commitment to supporting students who have experienced trauma.
• Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families.
