About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Mental Health Clinical Specialist to join our team at Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust. As a Clinical Specialist Nurse, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality care to individuals with complex mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver holistic care to service users.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments and formulate care plans for service users.
  • Manage a defined caseload of service users and ensure their care needs are met.
  • Collaborate with other agencies and community partners to ensure seamless care delivery.
  • Administer depot medications and monitor treatment plans.
  • Support service users to access physical and social health care to address isolation and health inequalities.
  • Produce social circumstances reports for Tribunal and managers hearings.
  • Participate in adult safeguarding enquiries and multiagency networks to protect vulnerable adults and their children.
  • Act as a duty worker and participate in team meetings, clinical decision making, and supervising junior staff.
Requirements
  • 2 years post-registration experience in a senior specialist capacity caring for people with psychosis.
  • Demonstrable experience in a community care or inpatient setting.
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of the needs and difficulties of people with complex mental health and/or substance misuse problems.
  • Clear understanding of the Mental Health legislation and its application in practice.
  • Ability to liaise with other agencies, carers, and the service user's wider support network.
Person Specification
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to work autonomously and deputise for senior staff in a variety of roles.
  • Competent using computers and keyboards for data entry, email, and report generation.
